Sandie is a consummate, self-motivated professional with over 25 years’ experience in successfully delivering complex and politically sensitive projects, the last 12 years in the education and learning services sectors managing the foundation and development of over 20 new academies. Her passion is ensuring all children are confident, aspirational, motivated learners, have self-worth and self-belief, the right to a good education, and are able to access opportunities to improve life chances – whilst making sure that no child is left behind.
Sandie has a commanding track record in the successful management and delivery of free school, special school and academy projects in challenging and multi-stakeholder environments. She is highly experienced in working sensitively and diplomatically with students, academy trusts, staff, parents, local and central government and third party suppliers, at strategic level and the ‘coal face’. Her comprehensive skill set is augmented by excellent interpersonal skills, open communication and ability to build strong relationships and partnerships. Sandie puts her expertise and life experiences to good use to assess the unique requirements of each academy trust and school helping to further develop local and national networks.
Sandie has worked with children in schools on an award winning advice and information partnership initiative - specifically in areas of deprivation - with the Legal Services Commission. With a track record in local government as Mayor and Council Leader, she is in her element working and liaising with both members and officers.
Sandie is currently working as Transition Manager for a multi academy trust to transfer their academies, without adversely affecting the children, to new Trusts, ensuring all legal, TUPE, DfE and EFA requirements are met on time and within budget.
